Professional Background
Mr. Phipps earned a Master���s Degree in Intercultural Communication in 1989, then attended Law School at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He worked as a summer law clerk for the Immigration and Naturalization Service in 1991, but then spent the first years of his career focusing on child maltreatment issues. He returned to a focus on immigration law and currently devotes nearly two-thirds of his practice to immigration law, with the remaining portion of his time spent on local family court matters.
Mr. Phipps was formerly employed at the Children���s Law Office, a division of the University of South Carolina School of Law. From 1999 to 2006 Mr. Phipps taught a course titled Child Abuse and the Legal System as an adjunct professor of law at the USC School of Law.
